Words are a funny thing. You can have a million of them running through your mind all at once, all dressed up with no place to go. So many words, all lacking any logical form or coherence, so that, if you did try to form some of them together in an attempt to answer all the questions you’re being asked, people would likely look at you a little cockeyed, like you’d lost your ever-lovin’ mind.
That’s been my story for these past eight weeks. Lots of words swirling through my mind, but no ability to make them fall into place and exit my lips or fingertips with any fluidity or eloquence.
So today’s blog post is going to be a little different.
Back in late January/early February I was invited to speak at our church’s year-end ladies night event. We take a break during the summer months from all mid-week classes (except for the youth group) so the first Wednesday night in June is a big, fun send-off kind of event known as the Ladies Summer Sampler. There’s fellowship, food and drinks, door prizes and always a special speaker, which, this year was to be yours truly. After Corey passed away, our Women’s Ministries director, Cheri, graciously offered to find another speaker and, to be honest, I thought about it for a couple of days. But I felt that the Lord wanted me to share with the ladies of our church some of what He’d been showing me of Himself over the past weeks, so I did my best to corral all those words and share my heart.
So today, rather than re-corral all those words and send them through my fingertips into a new blog post, I’m just going to post a video of what I shared last week with our ladies and allow you to listen to all my words, rather than read them, if you’re so inclined.
I’m learning the dialect of this new road I’ve found myself on and its most oft-used words include grace and time and simplicity. Its themes include Carpe Diem and trust and obedience.
I’ll post as I find the words in the coming weeks but, in the meantime, know that the Lord continues to be ever before me and at my right hand, helping keep me UNSHAKEN as I lead my family down this new road. One I’m still learning how to navigate but am confident that, with HIS help, I will learn to navigate well.

Psalms 139:4-6 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Psalms 139:7-10 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
